(About Phillip Home) (Last) (Next) Confiding AgainPhillip softly closed and locked the door to his room and knelt beside his bed, this time using the throw rug to cushion his knees. "Heavenly Father, I totally stepped in it tonight. Dad didn’t say a word to me on the way home. But I don’t feel like I did the wrong thing, or did I? I mean, I’m totally not interested in Scouts and never have been except for the rafting trip, and there were two boys who went along on that trip who weren’t Scouts, so I guess I didn’t need to be a Scout for that either. "Are Grant and I the only kids in the whole church who like computers? None of the computer nerds at school are jocks and none of the jocks are nerds. Am I really so freaky there’s no room anywhere for someone like me? I feel like I’m torn between, y’know, there’s no real place that’s mine. I look at the track pictures I put on my website—I guess you’ve seen the ones Grant took, right, because you see everything?—and I’m this skinny wimp next to all these big guys. |
